My first sewing machine
I got this beautiful thing in a British Red Cross charity shop on Monday. It was a bargain and just needs a bit of TLC. Can't wait to use it :) Any first project advice would be greatly appreciated but I know once I start I'll never stop!!!
Awww bless...congrats!!! Have you sewn with it yet ? If you need to/you havent already done so give it a bit of machine oil (in the bobbin case as well as the needle parts) leave it for a few days to take as well as to dry out any excess oil. Then try sewing a few straight seams on a spare bit of fabric to see how it runs as well as to make sure that all the oil has been absorbed.
